Génocide rwandais : la thèse explosive de Judi Rever

Elle a été intimidée, menacée, discréditée et taxée de négationnisme : Judi Rever dit avoir la preuve que les forces tutsies de Paul Kagame, actuel président du Rwanda, ont participé activement au génocide rwandais de 1994, voire l’ont déclenché, alors que seuls des Hutus ont été condamnés. Sa thèse d’un « double génocide » – l’un perpétré par les Hutus, l’autre par les Tutsis – contredit la version officielle. La journaliste explique à Stéphan Bureau pourquoi elle accuse Louise Arbour, l’ex-procureure en chef du Tribunal pénal international pour le Rwanda, d’avoir refusé d’enquêter sur Kagame.

Mme Rever présente les résultats de son enquête dans le livre Rwanda : l’éloge du sang. Elle croit que les menaces dont elle a fait l’objet, même à son domicile canadien, venaient du régime Kagame. « Les États-Unis [et] les personnes haut placées au sein de l’ONU ont protégé Kagame et ont assuré qu’il bénéficie d’une immunité juridique. » explique  Judi Rever.

Elle avance que l’assassinat du président rwandais Juvénal Habyarimana, qui a déclenché le génocide rwandais, le 6 avril 1994, a été commandité par Paul Kagame lui-même. « Les commandos de Kagame ont été responsables d’avoir abattu l’avion, dit-elle. Les commandos de Kagame ont alimenté, nourri le génocide contre les Tutsis parce qu’ils ont infiltré les milices hutues et ont participé directement au massacre des Tutsis. »
