Nous pensions que l’invasion d’autres pays, la sauvagerie des combats de rue et les menaces atomiques étaient de tristes souvenirs d’un passé lointain», a dit le pape devant des responsables maltais à son arrivée à Malte, où il se trouve pour une visite officielle de deux jours.
«Mais les vents glaciaux de la guerre, qui n’apportent que la mort, la destruction et la haine dans leur sillage, ont balayé avec force les vies de tant de gens et nous ont tous affectés». De violentes batailles se préparent dans l’est et le sud de l’Ukraine et pour le contrôle de Marioupol, a déclaré Oleksiy Arestovych, le conseiller du président ukrainien Volodymyr Zelensky. S’exprimant à la télévision nationale, Arestovitch a déclaré que les troupes ukrainiennes autour de Kiev avaient repris plus de 30 villes ou villages de la région et tenaient la ligne de front contre les forces russes à l’est. «Ne nous faisons pas d’illusions – il y a encore de lourdes batailles à venir pour le sud, pour Marioupol, pour l’est de l’Ukraine » », a-t-il déclaré.
Les autorités ukrainiennes ont annoncé ce samedi que la centrale nucléaire de Tchernobyl était à nouveau sous leur contrôle depuis ce matin après des semaines de tensions avec les forces russes sur la gestion des installations dangereuses.
